1:25 Hello. Yeah, here we go. Welcome everyone, and thank you for attending our board meeting tonight for the Springfield School District of February 9th, 2026. Um, and thank you for your efforts to be here tonight. Uh, this is my first time ever running a board meeting, so please give grace. Um, I will do the best that I can. I assure you. Um, uh, let's see. It is 7 0 5 right now, and I will call to the, the meeting to order and ask us to please stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance. Allegiance

2:29 Tonight. I've asked, uh, director Light if he would read The Land acknowledgement Would be honored. We acknowledge that we are in the traditional homeland of the Caala Pia people, specifically the community that was known as Chien, the area that we now call Springfield Kapu. People who have lived in this region since time immemorial were illegally dis dispossessed of their land and forcibly removed to what are now the Grand Grand. Ron and Celeste re reservations over several years, but most notice notably in treaties between 1851 and 1855. The Kapu are now members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand R and the Confederated tribes of Celts Indians

3:16 and members of the Kapu live work, study, and thrive in this area. They continue to make important contributions here in Springfield across the land we now refer to as Oregon and around the globe. This information is shared out of a responsibility to honor the heritage and the humanity of all people and to promote unity within our school district. Thank you. Thank you. Um, again, thank you, uh, for coming. Um, and for those who are in the room tonight, how many people do we have online right now? 75. Wow. Wow. Okay. Uh, thank you to those who have joined us tonight.

4:06 Um, next we will go out to number two, approve the agenda. This would be the place if wanted to pull an agenda item from the agenda or from the consent agenda. You could do that now. So, um, I'd like to move that we, uh, move action item six B to after item six H that Okay. I dunno if that requires a second. No. Do I get a second? I, I don't believe it needs a second, but I mean, we vote on the change, we vote on the approval.

4:54 Oh, okay. For those in favor, say aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. Okay. That has been moved. Um, So I would move approval of the agenda as amended. Yes. So Director Cole has, yeah. Is there something I should I, I will second his motion. Okay. For approval. Okay. All right. Thank you. Um, and, uh, so next for number three, Do we need to Vote on that? We'll need to vote. I'm, I'm sorry, go ahead. It's all, it's all right. Directors. Um, okay. Uh, so is this a roll call or just say call? Okay.

5:41 All in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. All right. So now, um, I suppose I can move on to action item, or, I'm sorry. Um, agenda item number three, classified employees appreciation proclamation. Um, I've asked, uh, Ken Cole, if he would read that. Sure. Thank you. My pleasure. Uh, this classified employee appreciation week proclamation for March 2nd through the sixth of 2026. Whereas the education of youth is essential to the future of our community, state, country, and world. And whereas classified employees are the backbone of our public education system, and whereas classified employees work directly with students, educators, parents, volunteers,

6:28 business partners, and community members, and whereas classified employees support the smooth operation of offices, the safety and maintenance of buildings and property, the safe transportation, healthy nutrition, and direct instruction of students. And whereas our community depends upon and trusts classified employees to serve students, and whereas classified employees with their diverse talents and true dedication, nurture students throughout their school years, now, therefore be it resolved that the Springfield Board of Education proclaims March 3rd through seventh, 2026, to be the classified employee appreciation week, be it further resolved that the Springfield Board of Education strongly encourages all members

7:13 of our community to join in the, this observance, recognizing the dedication and hard work of these individuals. Yes. Would anyone like to make a comment? Well, I would just, uh, sometimes proclamations can seem a little bit dry, but, uh, I think the sentiment from the board, uh, I don't wanna speak for the board necessarily, but the valuable work, the invaluable work that our classified employees provide this district is really the foundation of, of the educational process. They get our kids to school, they get 'em home, we feed them, uh, you know, we provide, uh, they provide support in the classroom, and, uh, truly we just have some magnificent talent,

7:59 magnificent people fitting those roles. And, uh, thank you. Yeah. I much appreciate everyone too. Um, I got a kiddo in fourth grade, and I get to see the amazing work classified workers do, and just so appreciate how you can make my kids' day and all of her peers day just, just go a lot more smooth and helping out their teacher. Just couldn't do it without you all. Thank you. Anybody else? Okay. Um, next, um, we can move on to agenda item number four,

8:45 student board representatives. I, hi, uh, hunter. Would you like to start us off? My name is Hunter Murphy. I'm the a SP President representing Thurston High School. Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you. Today, we are celebrating an amazing milestone. 90% of the class of 2025 graduated on time prepared to pursue their post high school plans. Students engaged in career technical education pathways and achieved greater than 90 and achieved greater than 95% graduation rates, uh, in complete sentence pathologies.

9:30 Our MLK celebration was a big success with students attending our Unity assembly and celebration. And after party in the Courtyard, students got to hear musicians, speakers, and spend time learning together. Great job to our black student union for putting on a successful event. Our ninth grade students came together for a class meeting and set goals to earn off-campus privileges. Students heard the must dos and must improve, uh, items to represent themselves as cults in our community. Apologies, sorry. Student voice and a SB put on a finals week mood booster on, on campus, serving up hot cocoa and apple cider to bring warmth to our campus.

10:16 As we wrapped up the first semester, our mental wellness student union had their first two meetings. Since their approval by A SB, they meet on Thursdays during lunch. This new club started last month by me, as well as freshman student. Hope EY aims to bring awareness and provide a safe space to discuss and support mental health for all students. We look forward to seeing how they can positively impact our campus. Students also started a tech turnaround club. This club focuses on fixing up old computers and other tech, and donating them to those in need. We look forward to seeing what they can do in our community. Uh, our Cookies and Cram event took place to prepare students for final exams.

11:01 Students had the opportunity to pick up a treat and meet with teachers to work on what needed to be done. This serves as a time set aside for test retakes, getting help and working on assignments. Recruitment for student representatives has begun. Students who wish to help put on events and work to improve our school are encouraged to apply. Our student directed plays just around the corner. Winter sports are in full swing with boys and girls, basketball and wrestling. Uh, men, men's, and women's basketball both earn themselves dominant wins over Churchill. The boys are currently first place in league. Both of our wrestling teams are having dominant seasons. The boys are coming off of resounding dual win against Westland, and the girls are top ranked

11:46 or the top ranked team in the state. Our swim team is preparing for the district meet where they hope to, uh, where they hope to win the league and qualify many athletes for states, for state, this could be one of the best thirst and swim teams ever. Great job to our athletes, and good luck on an amazing rest of the season. All students will begin forecasting for next year's classes. Current ninth, 10th, and 11th grade students chose the classes and pathways that help them reach their goals. CTE week presentations begin in February, begin in February with 10 career technical education pathways to choose from a THS. Students get to sign up to learn more about the pathway

12:32 and how the classes they take at THS launch them into training programs. After high school, our seniors got important graduation information. It's hard to believe seniors are entering, are entering their final term of high school. FAFSA completion continues. We have set a goal of 165 seniors completing the fafsa. We are just 38 students away from reaching that goal. Seniors can unlock scholarships and financial aid for college training and certifications after high school. Many colleges and universities have been spotlighted recently. Students have had the opportunity to learn about new opportunities available after high school. Thank you.

13:17 Thank you, hunter. Um, so you started the Mental Wellness Student Union. That's, Uh, yeah, that's correct. That's Wonderful. That's really wonderful. And you just started, you've only, you've had two meetings. Good deal. Congratulations on that. Thank you. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Um, anybody have any comments? No. Or questions? Okay. Um, yes, Lucy. Good evening School Board members. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share several special highlights and updates from SHS. This month. Freshman elections were a huge success. This semester, we are welcoming five new members to our leadership team. These students have already shown great enthusiasm

14:04 and commitment with the help of a creative idea. From our wonderful co social promoter, Erica and our freshmen are working together, currently leading a spread the love campaign. At SHS, every student will have the opportunity to fill out a paper heart with one thing they love or appreciate. And these hearts will be displayed throughout the school to help promote kindness, positivity, and a strong sense of community. As our new semester is now underway, seniors are actively submitting their yearbook photos and senior quotes. We are also holding our third senior meeting this week where important information about graduation requirements, upcoming deadlines. In end of the year, expectations are being shared to help keep seniors on track. Our winter formal dance was beautifully decorated

14:49 and truly a night to remember students had a safe, enjoyable evening filled with school spirit. It was wonderful to see students come together and create positive memories. Looking ahead at SHS Theater, they'll be presenting the musical Joseph. The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat performances will take place February 12th through the 14th, as well as the 19th through the 21st. In the SHS Commons, our cast and crew have been working incredibly hard, and it assured to be an amazing show. We encourage the community to come out and support our talented millers from the College and Career Center. Seniors are now approaching key deadlines for scholarship applications and FAFSA completion. Ms. Stillwell and our college career coordinator, along with

15:34 mentors, continue to work closely with seniors to provide guidance and support in college planning, career pathways and trade opportunities. Their dedication ensures every senior has access to the resources and knowledge they need to plan their life after high school. Overall, SHS continues to see strong student involvement, academic support, and community engagement. We are proud of the hard work being done by our students, our teachers and mentors, and we appreciate your continued support. And lastly, our 2025 graduation rate increased to a record of 83.9%, which is 1.9% above state average. This reflects a 3.9% point increase from 2024

16:19 and 11 point gain over the past two years. Thank you. Thank you. Uh, seem to be missing our gateway High school representative. Um, am I to read that or move on? Okay. So, to Bradley, A three. Um, awesome. So, uh, A three, um, just ended up our last term. Um, with J Fluence, a celebration of education, um, where students shared their learning from the last month. Um, some of the highlights, especially for me, were the blacksmithing class that showed off, um, what they had made in the forge this last month. Um, the chocolate tiering class that made a set of chocolates for the student body, and we voted on, which was our favorite,

17:04 including their business idea. Um, and then last, but certainly not least, the students who, um, participated in internships out in the community this month, um, this last month, um, did presentations on what their learning was and how these experiences were beneficial to them. Um, we also ended off this term, um, with our teacher of the last 10 years, um, Melanie Vector, um, who con conducted, um, her j Fluence for the Jedi Academy, a Star Wars themed class, which, as you can imagine, was a school favorite. Um, and that last day we had a school-wide assembly where we all said our collective goodbyes to her. Um, this new term began last week, and we have officially started. It's a plastic world.

17:49 Um, this is a confluence where students spend a term studying plastic and the environmental impacts and consequences of climate change. Um, at the end of the term, we will spend, um, time constructing giant sculptures made out of trash, um, to inform the public on different facts and ways that they can help the environment around them. And I forgot to add into my official report, but the musical is coming up. Um, if you want to save the dates once upon a mattress, we'll be showing the 13th, 14th, and 15th. Um, actually, it might be the 12th too. Let me check. Sorry, guys.

18:34 Yes, the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th at the Wildish Theater at seven 30. It's a really comedic retelling of the Princess and the pea. Um, I would totally recommend it as someone in the, um, cast and on tech. So thank you. Thank you very much. Bailey. Uh, you guys mentioned before you were for the plastic thing, you were taking donations. Are you still taking donations for the, The, um, yes, we are. Um, we just need, they have to be like, just plastic, and please make sure they are completely clean. Um, no gross soda, please. Yeah. Um, that sounds really interesting. And I think, um, if you email, um, Amy Beard,

19:21 our principal, um, I think she'll get back to you, but I definitely think students could use that in wood. That's So, oh, go ahead. So the play is February, right? 12th 13. March. Sorry. March. Okay. Definitely want to make sure. Um, I don't know if you know this Bradley, but the blacksmithing class, is that the result of the SEF contribution, um, for equipment, or No? Um, I don't think so. We've had it for a good couple of years. Um, it, sorry. Um, Andrew, I can't, I don't know his last name, sorry.

20:06 My school, um, teaches it and they go, they used to go to a forge in Cottage Grove, and now I think they go to a different one. Um, but it's like really crazy work for whole of teenagers. I can't fathom it. Thank you. Okay. Well, thank you everyone. Really appreciate it. Um, uh, and if you all wanted to head out tonight, I'm sure you have a lot to do. Is that what we had? Okay. Okay. Getting all the looks. I'm like, what? Yeah. Thank you so much for coming in tonight. You guys are released to, to go. I Still, right?

20:51 Yeah, absolutely. Please. Okay. Thank you. Okay, now we are moving on to agenda item number five. Public comments. Marty was there. Uh oh. Here it is. Okay. This is the portion of our agenda for public comment. The board provides three ways for community members to share public comment, written, public comment in person, oral public comment, and virtual public comment. Written. Public comment is received via email. The public comment received via email

21:37 for this evening has been reviewed by the board and has also been posted on the district's website. The deadline for submitting a request for oral public comment was today at two. Those who requested an opportunity speak this evening were notified by board secretary about the request time permitting. The board may also hear public comment from individuals who signed up in person at the administration office before the meeting. We encourage groups with a common purpose to designate a spokesperson. If your comments will be covered by groups spokeperson, please indicate so, when your name is called, I wanna remind those members of the public who have indicated a desire to make comments that our policy provides for a limitation

22:22 of three minutes per person. The board will not hear comments regarding any school personnel, whether named or implied any complaints regarding a particular employee must be processed through the procedure, set forth in board policy kl, which requires that complainants be submitted in writing to the superintendent. This procedure must be followed before there is any board involvement with such issues. Uh, complaints involving staff members should be sent to the superintendent who will forward it to the employee, their supervisor, and the board speakers are reminded that their public comments will be limited to three minutes. Thank you. Uh, up first.

23:10 Mm-hmm. Thank you. Let's see. There's a lot going on up here. Uh, where are the public? Oh, I got it. Thank you. First we have Melissa Wingham. I'm, I'm sorry. She was not able to make a, okay. All right. Do we have a Jud Alexander? And this is gonna be virtual and he is not here either.

23:55 Okay. Uh, Sarah b As usual, Director. Langworthy. Just a, a question. Do we have someone who's timing? Uh, Nicole, would you like to time, have you played with this yet? This is my, you got that? I can always do it too. Okay. Uh, I, I, I got it. It's okay. Um, all right, Sarah, go ahead and start. All right, thank you. I would like to wish to continue on a topic of community engagement this evening, which I've spoken about before. Um, to begin with, Wednesday, January 28th was the last day

24:41 that many of our children had their most beloved SPS teachers. My own child lost the teacher who was the first to comfort and connect with her when she was a freshman at a three. Uh, sent a lot of ripples through the community, but that same evening, I hosted a forum at the Spring Springfield City Council chambers to address the apparent lack of urgency surrounded the K five curricular shortcomings I was proud of and inspired by the attendees, especially the folks who came and showed up, who don't even have children in K five school buildings. And our collective determination to not let the ball drop on this important issue. Although, as much as I found kinship with the folks in attendance, I think it's shameful that the community has been shut out of having a conversation here, working side by side with our school board and SPS directors.

25:27 It's because of this absence of straightforward communication on this topic that I fear the community may further become alienated as the district faces the upcoming task of social studies curriculum adoption. The dysfunction of the school board has sadly now become a daily topic across local news outlets. I've read the comment threads posted when these stories are shared online across groups, and it's very disheartening that so many people are blaming you for this situation. Board decisions and inactions have certainly played a role in this situation, but a board with their hands tied and their curiosity squelched, are the symptom of a poorly managed system, not the cause of it. I implore you our elected representatives to bravely work together with your constituents to create the framework

26:13 to put this imperial district back on track. When I was hired here to teach kindergarten, I felt deeply supported and understood on the fabulous leadership of Nancy Golden thinking I had found my forever career. I know Springfield Public Schools can be a place of comfort, collaboration, inspiration, and excellence, again, for our staff and students. Remember that not all heroes wear capes, but I'll make you one if you'd like to be a hero. Thank you. Thank you very much. All right. Next up we have Hunter Murphy.

27:06 I'm back. Am I the last public comment? You are. Yeah. Oh, uh, no, you're not. No, you're not. Sorry. No, you're not. I have two more after you. Okay. First time given a public comment, so I have some grace with me. Thank you mem, Uh, thank you members of the school board for giving me the opportunity to speak to you this evening. I have the honor and privilege of serving as a SP President at Thurston High School, as well as student, as well as a student board representative. However, I come to you this evening, not as a SP president,

27:53 but as a member of the community. And by this time next week, a voter. These last few meetings have inspired me to, uh, get off the bench and share my thoughts. I've watched dozens of brave community members speak up and share their thoughts, suggestions, and grievances. I decided after much deliberation in many conversations, that it was time for me to step up and share my own. What we see in our district is a result of bad decisions, judgment and lack of regard and respect for this community. There are many administrators, teachers, and board members, even who I look up to and see their efforts as admirable. But we as a district, need to wake up, support our teachers, and not sugarcoat and avoid real life issues.

28:39 I won't claim to know a dislike to formulate a budget, not my job. I can only speak for the effects on students and staff. The last few weeks of intense, our teachers didn't know who was gonna go and who was gonna stay. Our students didn't know if they would lose their favorite teachers. Our school lost some really good educators who loved and their students and their jobs other schools did as well. You really mean to tell me the money isn't there? Sure. Let's say we believe that, which no one does, but let's say we do. Where is it then? As someone who goes to a school with three vice principals, emphasis on three, I don't think I need to explain further. We need to strip away the lies, the politics and coverups,

29:27 and really get to the core of our issues for those in attendance. If you really think the resignation of one school board member will solve all of our problems, then you are sadly mistaken. This fight is far from over, and our district is headed in a direction that without community teacher and student involvement will cause itself to self, will cause it to self implode board members. I want to thank you. You have provided me with an amazing opportunity this year to be a student board representative. Something that even a couple years ago would've blown my mind. But in this respect, it is disappointing to see our district heading the way it is. I feel that I can simultaneously respect the efforts of all school staff, board members, and administrators, while also being disenfranchised

30:14 with the direction of our district. Now, anyone can complain. Complaining isn't constructive as good as it feels. I believe in backing my complaints with a call to action board members. You have a wide array of community members, teachers, and staff, all of whom I would, I'm sure would be happy to pay a little more and be involved a little more, and be involved a little more if it meant that our decision makers could be better equipped to deal with these issues. Teachers, we, as the students of this district, are proud beyond measure to learn and grow under your guidance. Continue fighting, advocating, and demanding for what you need to live and thrive in an amazing and worthwhile career. Administrators. Learn to listen to your staff and your students.

30:59 Students as the class of 2026 is set to graduate, it's your turn to step up and advocate for what you need, for what you believe unapologetically and peacefully. Thank you, Hunter. Hunter. Uh, do you have a written version of that? Can you provide that to the board at your convenience? And I urge that of, of all public commenters, whatever form, but making sure the board has a written com, uh, written copy of it is very helpful.

31:45 Thank you, hunter. Next we have Nikki Linder. Am I saying your name right? Yes. Okay, good. Understandably, thanks. Hello, And thanks for having us, vice Chair Langworthy and members of the board. Uh, this is my first time appearing in front of the board despite having children in the school district for six years or so, I believe. Um, my eldest was here during, um, the COVID, uh, pandemic and was out of school for an entire year.

32:31 Tried some online school, came back. It was very traumatic, um, for everyone involved, and I know a lot of kids were affected. And those are the same children that are being affected right now by our staffing guts. Um, I am personally digging into the details more, and I'm very excited to be following along. Um, and, um, I think what I would like to address here tonight is, uh, what others among us have addressed here. And that is what appears to be a culture of a lack of transparency and accountability here on the board. Um, our, um, special meeting that we were promised

33:16 after the teacher cuts was abruptly canceled the week before last, um, with no explanation why a new one. We were told to check your website, um, for an updated, um, date, rather than, um, y'all offering to proactively notify us of when that date was, which is a barrier to, um, working parents. And, um, then the second special meeting was canceled with, or, or, sorry, scheduled rescheduled with very little notice, and then subsequently canceled within a minute of the meeting, supposed to be starting. And it was scheduled in the middle of a workday, which has, whether intended or not,

34:02 an obvious chilling effect on community turnout. We have been instructed not to discuss personnel issues. We have been instructed not to discuss investigations. I understand the reasons for that. And it is, um, also contributing to this culture of us as a community, not feeling like we are being involved in what is happening. Y'all are our elective representatives. These are our kiddos. I've got two kids in school. One of them, he did not lose a teacher, thankfully, but his friends did, and they were really sad about it. And this, this is affecting all of us. I think there are better ways to go about it. And I am asking the board to please make every effort that you can to make your decisions, um, transparent

34:51 about what went into them, make meetings accessible to us as a community, and keep us apprised, and we want to work together. I believe this district can be made better. Thank you. Thank you. And if you have that in written. Um, okay. Wow. Uh, next up we have La Laura Farley. I,

35:48 My name is Laura Farley, and I'm a teacher at Springfield High School. I'm here to share some facts with you regarding district communication about the budget. Over the past 11 months. At the budget committee meeting on March 13th, 2025, upper management declared that bargaining and the budget process were separate. No assumptions were made for COLA insurance or related items. It was explicitly stated that the two processes would remain independent. During the bargaining session on April 8th, the district offered a fair compensation package. It was shared that the board's starting parameter was a 1.6 million total package for COLA insurance and related costs. There was no indication that this would require staffing cuts.

36:34 On April 24th, the district even increased its offer to 2 million. There was no mention of staffing cuts on May 7th. The district offered a 2.52 and 2% COLA over three years. No staffing cuts were mentioned. Hmm. Are we noticing a pattern here at the May 8th budget committee meeting, the district presented a 0% cola. It was stated that bargaining was ongoing, and that budget assumptions did not dictate bargaining outcomes for the first time. It was said that increases above 0% would require reductions in the budget, likely staffing. It was not stated that COLA automatically meant staff cuts. No further budget meetings were held after this

37:22 because the district had repeatedly stated the processes were separate and had made offers above 0%. Without warning of layoffs, one would reasonably assume there was budget flexibility within board approved parameters that were not being publicly shared. At no point did the district tell us it could not afford what it had already offered. I mean, there was no hiring freeze for this new school year. We welcomed 41 new educators to our district at the end of August. Fast forward to a month ago on January 8th, the superintendent sent the email about mid-year cuts. A mere four y days later feels like years three out of the five board directors voted to approve these cuts.

38:09 One would think that the district would've already figured out all of the logistics for this decision, which they suggested was not made lightly. One would be mistaken. Our colleagues had to wait for eight agonizing days to find out if they were going to be displaced or laid off just 10 days later. How did it come to this? It makes no sense. It feels like a betrayal. How can we trust district admin after this? It hurts my heart to say that our district will carry this shame for years to come. Thank you. Thank you for your public comments.

38:54 And again, if you want to send that in, that would be great. Okay. Moving on to action. Let's see. Number six, action items. Uh, we're to approve consent agenda. Um, Let's see. I would move to approve the consent agenda. I'll second. Great. Um, and then we are moving, uh, six B down. So I guess I move on, but we need

39:39 To vote on, on accepting the consent agenda. So we had a motion to approve the consent agenda. We need to, Oh, okay. Do we need to do a roll call or is it an, okay. Okay. Those in favor of approving the consent agenda, say a. Aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. Okay. So now this leads me to moving, we're moving six B down, so I just move on to six C. Yeah. Correct. Okay. Mm-hmm. Uh, six C, uh, as approved. 20 25, 27 Lane. ESD, local service plan. Year two.

40:24 I think you're on a different, oh, I'm Sorry. We Should be doing the FCA agreement. I had this printed off from earlier today. My apologies. My apologies. Okay. Uh, let's see. I'm on 16. Um, so to approve agreement between Springfield Education Association and Springfield School District number nine. Uh, number 19, resolution 25 dash 26.04. Uh, zero. And I will move this to Brett Yancy. Thank you. Mm-hmm. Uh, members of the board is it, it is recommended

41:10 that the board of directors approve the new two year agreement between Springfield Public Schools and Springfield Education Association, effective July 1st, 2025 through June 30th, 2027. So moved second. Okay. So, uh, is this a point where we ask if there's any comment question? Yeah. Okay. Is there any comment or question? Well, I'll just make the comment that I'm, I'm very glad that we reached an agreement. I'm proud of both sides that we were able to achieve that. And, um, yeah. Looking forward to moving beyond this. Moving on. Yep. Yes. Board motion. Uh, all those in favor say aye.

41:58 Aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. Okay. Uh, moving on to action item six D and this is the approval of the 2025 dash 27 lane ESD local service plan, year two, resolution number 25 dash 26 0 37. Um, and I'm also gonna be moving this on to Brett Yancy. Superintendent Hamilton is not here tonight. Thank you. Uh, it is recommended that the board of directors of Lane County School District number 19 hereby authorize the approval of the lane ESD 2020 5, 27 local service plan year two, and request the lane ESD to provide the services described

42:45 during the 2020 6 27, the second year, uh, second fiscal year in accordance with OS 3 3, 4 0.175. I move to approve the 2025 lane ESD local service plan year two, And I'll second. Okay. Uh, those in favor, uh, say aye. Is this where, where I do that? Just note that, I guess this was the presentation we received last month from Yes. ESD, and so, Yeah. So, yes. Yeah, I don't have any questions or discussions. Okay. Yeah. I, I appreciate, uh, Tony Urdo and Vanessa Truet coming down representing, uh, Laney, ESD, and going through a very comprehensive, uh, presentation on the services they provide.

43:32 Um, it's great to have, uh, that kind of leadership to work with. Mm-hmm. Thank you. Um, so I, yes. So we already went through, and so, uh, everyone in favor to, aye. Okay. Yes. Say aye. Okay. And Nicole, director Degra. I said the, aye. Okay. Aye. Moving on to action item, uh, six E approval, OSA, a cooperative sponsorship, Thurston and Mohawk High School boys volleyball, resolution number 25 dash 26 0.

44:19 Uh, 38. Um, Mindy LaRue will not be taken this, I'm gonna pass it off to Bright Yancy. Thank you. Uh, it's recommended that the board directors support the OSAA cooperative sponsorship application for boys volleyball between Thurston High School and Mohawk High School. And this is similar to what we've done in the past with smaller schools that don't have the, uh, numbers to compete, they look to, to move into cooperative. So this is allowing Mohawk and Thurston to, or Thurston to accept the Mohawk students. I would move to approve. I would second. Okay. And I think it's wonderful, yeah. That, that we can provide this opportunity to our neighboring districts.

45:04 And, uh, I know that we've done it on a number of occasions and hope we continue to support our neighboring schools. When is boys volleyball? Is that the fall? Does anybody know? Spring. Spring. Oh, okay. Oh, that's why we're doing it now. So, uh, I guess I make the motion to approve. Okay. We did that. We did that. Okay. I'm sorry about That for the vote Again. Woo. Um, Doing great. Okay. Uh, moving on to action item. Vote. We need to Vote. We need to vote. Uh oh. I thought that's okay. That's what I was, I want to vote Yes. I, yeah, let's vote. All right.

45:49 Those in favor of, uh, action item six E, um, say, aye, it's D or Susan, sorry. Aye. Aye. Yeah, it's d Aye. Aye. Moving on. Um, next up is, uh, six F, the approval investment policy resolution number 25 dash 26.039. Again, we'll be passing this off to Brett Yancy. Thank you. Um, so it's been a number of years since we had our investment policy reviewed by the Oregon State Treasury. Um, the Oregon Short Term Fund Board, who is managed

46:34 by the Oregon State Treasury. We went through that process, made all the recommenda recommended improvements and, and revisions to make sure that we're in compliance with state law and the guidelines given to us by the treasury. Um, it is recommend, so it is recommended that the board of directors approve the investment policy guidelines. And this is actually DFA ar, it's one of the unique times that we bring an AR to the board, because there is quite a bit of detail in it. Um, and that was presented to you in the packet. So, yeah, I, I guess I get, I'm confused on, do We have a motion? Do we need a motion first? Usually the comments after motion second, I'll move approval And I'll second. So, um, I'm, I'm confused about this being a policy

47:22 or an administrative regulations. My understanding administrative regulation would be strictly at the discretion of the superintendent. Mm-hmm. And if the board, is it, so is this the policy? Is this administrative regulation? It's administrative regulation. Um, I think the, the difference with this one is that the, the, um, exposure to the finances of the district as we get into being able to, um, articulate the, the broadness of what we're able to invest in, how we invest, um, what were, uh, the strategies that we use. The importance is that the board has overall fiduciary responsibility. So that's why we brought the AR to the board. Um, because without an ar, you would have implemented a policy

48:07 and allowing us to invest in whatever we wanted to invest in. Well, the, the reality is, is there, it is very defined in state law, and the board as the fiduciary needs to make sure that they're approving what we're allowed to invest in. So I guess, should this be a policy then, and, and we go through the normal process of adopting a policy where we, My understanding is that policies are, are summaries and AR is how you do it. And this is a unique one. This is one that is, you know, you, it's like the wellness committee, wellness committee policy. And then we have a very large AR that comes to the board periodically for updates. And so there are a few throughout the, throughout the policy section that need board, uh, attention and approval. And this is one of them.

48:55 Okay. I, I guess, um, I mean, if you want to make this a policy, you can, um, the difficulty with that, the difficulty with that is when there's minor adjustments that are just updates to RS numbers and things like that, then we'd have to bring the entire policy back to the board instead of making those, um, minor adjustments through the AR process. But the board, you can do whatever you'd like. Obviously, It seems if we're going to the trouble of approving it through a vote, it ought to be a policy. I mean, follow the same procedure, I guess. Um, is this something, uh, because I've looked on our website and there's not a, an existing df right? A ar So it's not, so I was kind of confused also where it said, you know, this was last updated reviewed 10 years ago. Yep. But it's not, do we have an existing AR for this?

49:43 But it's not, but it's just not on our website. Yeah, I, I'm Not on a policy website. Okay. Um, so I wasn't able to look and see what was the previous one with, with that. I guess I would, I would prefer to, I guess either, you know, wait on this, is there any sentence of urgency that we need to do this now? We're just trying to get it to, so I have a little more background and history on Yep. What this is and, um, spend a little more time with it because it is pretty involved. And if we're approving it, I'd like to make sure I understand what's in there.

50:29 I agree with that. I also would like to have a little bit more time with this. And is there a way that we can show what the existing policy is versus the changes that are going to be made? That, or the Existing policy on This one that would be helpful. Um, so this is just a policy clarification, and it's not stating that we have excess funds, uh, of, of operating, right? We, We have, we always have excess funds. I mean, we have a $250 million budget. So we have excess funds that we're investing all the time. Most of them are in the local government investment pool. And we also have a money market account that we use. Um, so we wanna maximize our investments because these come in, like the tax rolls came in at $35 million.

51:14 We don't spend 35 million in a month. And so we wanna make sure that we're investing those to maximize the investments. Um, and we do report that those investment, uh, earnings to the board. Um, so yeah, I'll give you, I can a hundred percent provide the old policy and the new policy, and you guys can, um, take that on as you wish. Well, and it might be an interesting presentation just to inform the board of how that works, um, so that people feel comfortable moving forward with the adjustments to the policy. Sure. So do I need to make a motion to rescind my original motion to approve it? Well, or we just don't take a vote, but you can if you want. There's No motion on tape. We can just vote. No.

52:02 Um, Do we just I am, I'm not sure. Voting no is the intent because we want it to be brought back and it's Right. 'cause we're tabling it. Correct. Right. So I would make the motion to take the existing motion off the table and move this forward to a future meeting. I'll second that. Okay. Okay. Those in favor? Aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. Okay. Thank you. Uh, let's see. All right. Uh, up next is action item six G, declare board vacancy resolution number 25 dash

52:50 26 1. I move to declare a vacancy for position two effective immediately. I'll second. Okay. Um, those in favor? Well, I, I guess I would just like to say that how much, um, I'm, I'm disappointed that, um, director Hanta chose to resign how much I appreciated her work and, and valued her, um, her role on the board and, and the, what she does for the community and her life and that. And so I, it's, um, I'm saddened that she chose to resign, but, and wanna thank her for her service.

53:38 Yes. All those in favor? Aye. Aye. Aye. Okay. Alright. Uh, oh boy. Um, next up is, uh, action item six G elect, board officer. So we item six H, correct. Sorry. Yep, yep. I have too many, uh, I have an old agenda and then I have the, the new one. Okay. My apologies. Yeah. Six H uh, yeah.

54:23 Elect board officers. Yep. Okay. So this is gonna be the part where we vote for a chair, correct? Yes. Um, Dominations, I'm sorry. So we need dominations to start. Yeah. I'm gonna nominate Jonathan Light. Are there any other nominations? Okay, let's take a, hold On. Yeah. Since the board has previously taken action related to conduct issues, what legal risk does the district assume by elevating the same member to be chair again? And the other question I have is, since you're nominating,

55:09 since the chair has additional authority over meeting, conduct, agenda setting, and interacting with admin and counsel, what safeguards are in place to prevent recurrence of those same conduct issues? Yeah. So, um, I guess this leads me, I don't know if I'm allowed to bleed the board development planning into this moment. No, This is about nominating Chair. Okay. I, that, that's, that's, that's been the hard part for me today. 'cause I, I, I assume that would be a question. Um, I think Jonathan Light has, um, you know, I am, I've definitely been, this is where the, the gray area is so hard for me to, um, not jump into what I've been doing with board planning.

55:56 Um, you know, this, this, uh, his sensor, um, sorry, one again, too much. I'm not asking About the sensor. I'm just talking Friday duty to, um, find out what, what the legal risk is elevating this board member again. So, um, is that a question for Amber? Is that a question we need to ask legal counsel? Or, I'm asking you as a board 'cause you're nominating him And I'm not sure that the discussion is germane to the, It's very germane. Okay. The question re for the record, those questions remain unanswered. Okay. Call the vote. Okay.

56:43 Um, gonna take the roll call, uh, starting with Jonathan. Yes. Ken. Yes. No. Yes. So our new chair is Jonathan Light. Thank you. I appreciate the opportunity. Um, I know we've been to a rough patch, but I think there's always a lot of upside, so I appreciate the, uh, the confidence of the board. Mm-hmm. Uh, so is it at this time, can I just pass this down to you?

57:28 You, is that what you do? I didn't use it. Mark, You can throw it. I'm ready. Um, yeah, I'll just, I'll stay down here and you can gavel it as, uh, as vice chair. Just Let me know. So, so moving on then to, uh, action item six B, which we put after the board elections. It's the action on information discussed in executive session. So, um, I move that we delegate authority to the board chair to negotiate and execute a resignation agreement with the superintendent. I'll second. Is there any comments or questions? Hearing none, call for the vote. I'll do a roll call. Vote.

58:15 Uh, director Langworthy. Yes. I'm, I'm sorry, what? Calling for the vote on the, uh, motion? Yes. Yes. Uh, director Degra. Yes. Director Cole? Yes. And myself. Yes. Uh, motion carries four to nothing. Moving on then to, um, agenda item seven, board discussion. Uh, first up is the board vacancy process and timeline, which we declared the vacancy earlier. And so now we will move into the definition of the process. Um, and I believe we'll turn that over

59:04 to our communications director. Thank you, Brian. Yeah, good evening. Board of Directors, Brian Richardson, director of communications here. So the board of directors is responsible for filling the vacated position two board seat in accordance with policy BBE vacancies on the board. Policy BBE requires the board vacancies be filled by board appointment, and that the appointee be a legally registered voter and a resident of the district for at least one year immediately proceeding the appointment. The individual appointed will serve until June 30th, following the next regularly scheduled election 2027. And at that time, the individual elected in May of 2027 will serve either the remaining will serve the remaining portion of the unexpired term. So, as part of a proposal that we shared, uh,

59:49 late last week, we have put together three essential timelines, um, that lay out what this could look like when it comes to, um, filling this seat. Uh, kind of varying levels of urgency, um, and community outreach as well as deliberation time is really kind of the different measures inside of here. So, proposal one, uh, really looks at an accelerated timeline, the quickest possible appointment to minimize the length of vacancy and restore full board as soon as, uh, allowable proposal two, what I'm calling kind of the standard timeline balances efficiency with an extended application window to support broader, uh, awareness as well as allow more time for people to submit applications as well as review. And then proposal three is an extended timeline.

1:00:37 It's the longest outreach when it comes to the three proposals, uh, longest review period as well. Uh, and it also allows for the board, uh, additional time for applicant, um, review as well and deliberation. So tonight will, I'll go walk through kind of some of the, the highlights and what those dates look like. Uh, and then, um, upon general agreement of the board, we will then move forward with the implementation of set plan. So all of these, all of the three proposals start tomorrow. Uh, we will issue a press release from my team as well as, uh, get the application ready to go and ready for the public so people can start to submit those.

1:01:22 We will then, uh, also share that information with families as well. So the community, the families are all aware, uh, that this is happening. We'll share it on social media as well in our newsletters. Um, the, for proposal one we are, we would stop the, um, review the collection of the applications on February 20th. This is really all built around the special session on the 23rd, uh, to conduct interviews on the 23rd. You would, whoever, if you go with this proposal, whoever you choose on the 23rd, that person would be, um, the board would administer the oath of office immediately and then we would do a ceremonious oath of office and they would be ready to go for the

1:02:08 March 9th board meeting. Proposal two, again start, everything starts tomorrow. Uh, the application period is longer with that one. And so that application period is about three weeks in length. Um, it's really all built around the March 9th board meeting. So you would be doing the interviews, uh, could be potentially right before that meeting, uh, and then seat that person there as well. So a longer time timeframe, a longer window. That person would also be there for the March 9th meeting. Uh, and the board would administer the oath of office for that person as well. That that person would be selected at the meeting at the March 9th meeting. Proposal three, Push that application window out significantly.

1:02:55 So that would be a five week open application period. Uh, and the way that it's written right now, we do have spring break inside of that as well. But this is trying to get that person in the board, the vacated board seat by April 13th. So two board meetings from, from now. Alright. So board members, we have three proposals before us. And, uh, the first one is the expedited, uh, proposal, and then there's the, uh, the one in the middle and then the one that's extended. I personally favor the proposal two, uh, with some modifications, but I'd be interested in input from other board members. So I just would like to, it's my understanding that, um,

1:03:42 this person would serve through June 30th, 2027, correct? Correct. And they would be That's correct. Correct. A election in the spring of 2027, correct. Yeah. And that election in 2027, then they'll fulfill the two, the term into, uh, 29. The two to two years. Yes. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. So, um, uh, my preference is proposal one. I guess. I think that, um, you know, 10 days to get applications, I think there's already a fair amount of public interest and knowledge of what's going on. And I think that we can get some good candidates in that time and trying to get to, um, picking somebody as soon as possible. I think, you know, whether

1:04:30 or not we even want to schedule a meeting just to do the interviews and the selection of the person so we don't distract from the other business we've got going on. But that would be my preference. Director Degra, No comment. Okay. Uh, director Langworthy. Um, as somebody who has, uh, done this before, um, I applied last year, uh, for the interim position, um, I'd be more in favor for proposal number two personally. Um, it just gives a, gives a person a little bit more time to decide if this is really what they wanna do. It's a, it's a, it's a big commitment. Uh, it's no joke. Um, and you know, the amount of writing

1:05:18 and self-reflection that you have to do, it's, um, it's significant. So proposal number two is what I would, Are you leaning go for. Mm-hmm. And like I said earlier, I, I, uh, I like proposal two, I would offer a slight modification. I would like the, the window rather for application of, uh, instead of ending on March 2nd to, uh, finalize the deadline being Friday the 27th. Um, and the reason for that is that if we have the applications in place at that time, they could be forwarded to the board and, uh, I do a lot of board work on the weekend. So that would give a weekend plus a week then to take a look at those. Um, the board may want to entertain the idea

1:06:03 of a special meeting in that first week to talk about the applicant pool. My experience is that if it's small enough, you interview everybody and, and maybe you have experience in this too, but if it's really, really large, we may want to sort of do a prescreen and offer interviews to selected individuals. But under that scenario, then we would have from February 27th through March 6th, um, to review the applications. Yeah. And under that proposal, you would have two weekends, Right? To, To review not just one. Mm-hmm. Um, I, I like the idea of screening applicants. We had, when, I think when, uh, Heather initially filled,

1:06:50 there was I think 14 interviews, which was just a lot. And trying to, um, narrow down the, the folks that we want to interview, I would be in favor of that. And so, you know, having time to be able to, you know, depending on the number of applicants to, to facilitate that. And, you know, I I would hate to, uh, take up one of our regular business meetings with just doing interviews. You do always have the option as well to schedule that extra. Yeah, I would be in favor of that. Well, and, and accommodating if we have a limited pool, we, we may not need to do the pre-screen, but if we do have a large pool, I would suggest maybe adding a special meeting on March 2nd,

1:07:37 the Monday March 2nd and allow that would allow a full week for preparation for the interviewees and allow us in public session then to review the questions and reaffirm the process. So the on proposal two, the window would close on February 27th, is what you're proposing? Yes. Right. Yeah. And then reviewing with the potential to have a meeting on that following Monday. So, and then notifying, which Is the second. Yeah. Yeah. And like I say, it might not be necessary if we have half a dozen. That's a pretty doable, uh, number. I think we did, we have 11 applicants. Maybe Amber can answer that question.

1:08:23 Uh, when it was quite a number, some didn't show, but you hate to rely on that. Uh, so I'd rather be more transparent and, and, uh, prepare for that director. Langworthy, any any thoughts on that? No, I can get behind that. I, I think that's, that's enough time. Um, I like the idea of holding a extra meeting just to, to really dive into this without taking up more board time. Uh, and I'm open to some guidance. One of the, if, if we receive the applications on the 27th,

1:09:08 we have to notice a special meeting 24 hours. Is that correct? Uh, believe, because that one, I'll have to look specifically at the public meetings law. I think you might have to have an extended window. I think that's 48, 48 hours. Um, 'cause it's not an executive session, So we would just want to keep that in mind. Uh, I, and I don't believe the weekends count as days notice. Is that correct? I believe So, yes. Yeah. So it might not be on that Monday, but it could be sometime Tuesday, Wednesday, et cetera, when we'd have, and if, if that's all that's on the agenda, it wouldn't be a necessarily long meeting and still give the, uh, potential interviewees time to prepare. Do we need to vote? Uh,

1:09:54 There's, there's no vote. I'm really just looking for head nods at this point. So at this point it is proposal two, uh, with some modifications Yeah. Of which, uh, shifting the, um, application deadline. Uh, and then any potential meeting that will, that will come from the board. Yeah, the important thing is that we will have, uh, that seat field, uh, March 9th. Thank you, Brian. Moving on then to agenda item seven B, board development planning. Um, I'm going to, uh, refer to vice chair Langworthy because you've done some pre-work on this

1:10:39 already, so mm-hmm. If you could sort of bring us up to speed and then, uh, board members certainly chime in with what you'd like to see. Yeah. Uh, so I have heard from other board members, you know, we, we want options when it comes to board development planning. Um, and what I have been doing is reaching out to facilitators and trainers to help this board find some common ground to get some training, um, help us, us move along. I, right now I have, um, I have one proposal in, um, I, I told them to hold off, uh, due to last week

1:11:24 and I'll be having some more proposals coming in as well. And, uh, og, I, uh, so it's the, um, it's the Oregon Ethics Department. Um, they will, they can come in and give us a public meetings, uh, training and ethics training for free, as I found out. And, um, just would like to wait for a new board member to arrive before I start making those schedules. And at that time, I can also have all those proposals in to be able to present to everyone to, to vote on. And the training from the Oregon Government Ethics Commission. I, uh, I think when we were earlier talking, they're not available until, did you say May? Or was it April?

1:12:10 Late April. Early May. And then after that, they're wide open, they say. So It'd probably be good to get on their schedule, uh, as you know, as soon as they're available on that. Um, and they would be giving training not only on public meetings laws, but also serial communication? That's correct, Yeah. Under their jurisdiction. That's correct. Okay. Mm-hmm. Thank you. And then the other training, um, uh, I have to say that I, I am actually quite supportive of, of board training. I think it's the way we do our job better. Um, but I've sat through the OSBA training for a number of times, and, uh, would like to, and I've, and I've said this before, would like to have a, um,

1:12:57 a third party facilitator, uh, give us their PERS perspective. And I think you've been in touch with, um, three, Uh, yes, I've been in touch With brief. You know, SP is gonna submit a proposal. Mm-hmm. Um, and then there's two others. Mm-hmm. So, um, yeah, we can work together then on, on, uh, facilitating that, but particularly with the new board member coming on, I think it's really, really important that we do adequate training, onboarding, uh, all of that. I think it's also important to have board training for those who don't know, um, operational versus oversight questions. So when you're looking for somebody, make sure they can do a well-rounded training. Thank you. And, uh, maybe we could converse

1:13:43 and you could help me with that. Like what your other suggestions that you have. Is this something would you like to know more? Like actually who has submitted proposals maybe for discussion at our March 9th meeting? Whatever you decide. Okay. Yes. Given the, given the new person coming on, um, the roles and responsibility training, I think would be important. The ethics, I think is, is great. Um, I want to schedule a retreat, you know, uh, but all of that planning around board development, I think will help us, uh, really move forward. So thanks for your work on that a already. Mm-hmm.

1:14:28 And I believe, did Heather work on that also? Um, she had, um, she had set up with, um, OSBA and, and, um, in conversations, um, we had pivoted a bit and decided to look at third parties just to, uh, get common ground with the board. So. Okay. Well, thanks to her work mm-hmm. On moving us forward, I would ask the board members to please, uh, communicate to either, uh, vice chair, langworthy or myself, things that you would like to see included, like you said, uh, Nicole in the, uh,

1:15:14 in the presentation or in the, uh, session. Because that'll help us put together a request for proposal from these various entities. Uh, find out one, is it, is it within their wheelhouse for expertise? Uh, and then maybe any thoughts or suggestions that they might have. So please let us know. Um, yeah. Sounds like we need to move on that a little bit. Yeah, yeah. Um, I'm, I'm happy to do so. There's been a, um, yeah, I look forward to, uh, moving forward. Um, and I also, um, you know, I've been talking to different facilitators and trainers. Um, you know, I'm learning more about what we're able

1:16:00 to receive and, um, you know, some of them are, uh, they could build out a year's worth of training. Uh, not that they have to come here and do that every time, but the ideas for us to grow out of them, um, after they've seen our growth and our improvement. Um, so it's, we'll, we'll see what, how, how the proposals come out to, to us, and we'll go from there. With OSBA, I could see that, because we're all familiar with OSBA, my leaning with any new facilitator would be sort of a try before you buy. Yeah. See what the interaction is with the board and, and, and how successful that is. But, you know, that's important to bring that forward.

1:16:46 So would you like, uh, would, would you all be wanting to have like a interview with them after I release the proposals to you? Like how would you, how would you like that? Or just have the proposals and go from there? Well, the board could authorize the chair and vice chair to move forward with this, but if the board would also like to interview mm-hmm. Um, in some fashion, I, that's definitely within the purview of board of directors. So not wanting to necessarily represent the interests of other board members. Um, you know, I can certainly see bringing these proposals forward. So maybe we start with what you find out

1:17:31 and then go from there. Okay. Does that make sense? Yes, Ken, that makes sense. Yeah, That sounds fine. Yep. Okay. Alright, is there any other comments or questions regarding this topic? Okay, hearing none, then we will go ahead and move forward. So next on the agenda is item eight B, uh, board communication and comments. So I, I will go, I brought this topic up before and I just, um, didn't get much feedback from the board, but, uh, I think it would be prudent to establish the sites of facilities committee. Um, I think it was brought up in our last, um, budget meeting. Brett had also suggested that, um, I think that could, um,

1:18:19 there's a lot of issues around that, that, um, it's a way to get, um, additional community engagement to help with that and direction and take some of the load off the board with digging deep dive into a lot of the topics we're gonna have to cover. And so I was just wondering what the thoughts are from the rest of the board about getting that started and what that would look like. Well, I think that could definitely fall under board development, particularly with the new board member coming on. And I don't know how familiar this board is with our sites and facilities, but, um, I'm sure that Brett could inform us, uh, and we might know more about the structural beam issue that we're currently in the process of addressing. So you

1:19:05 Get, you got me confused with an, because I thought this would be a separate committee, the board would Oh, definitely May. Yeah. You know, but it's something that we should, uh, have a conversation about. Okay. And, uh, how do we wanna approach that? Yeah, so sites and facilities is usually an offshoot of a conversation around sites and facilities with the board. How do we wanna address that? How do we wanna get information, what information is currently there? So I'm just trying to think how can we do this so that, you know, we had a, a lot of things on our agenda and things crop up. Is there a way, you know, to kind of expedite that so that we could have a committee that could be working through those issues to then report back to the board so that the board, you know, we don't have to spend as much of our, um, time and meetings talking about it, but there may not be another way to do that.

1:19:53 Well, I, I'm hesitant to put too much on the next couple of meetings, but would it Right. Be too late to do in April? Put this on the agenda for discussion in a, at our April meeting. Okay. Yeah, because I know you've mentioned that several times and it is, you know, it's, it's, um, it's a large expenditure by the district and, and the better informed the board is, I think the better decisions we'll make moving forward. So thank you for that other board communication. Anything else, Ken? No. Okay. Amber? Um, I really look forward to, um, I had a invitation to visit, uh, uh, I had a formal, we all had a formal invitation to visit,

1:20:41 uh, teachers in the district at eight different schools. And I really look forward to having that scheduled so I can go see them. Um, other than that, yeah. I, okay. That, that, that's it. Well, thank, thank you for your work as vice chair and look forward to working with you more, Dr. Nicole. Um, I'm on the Springfield Education Foundation. Um, I spent a lot of time since I've been on the board going to different classrooms and helping fundraise for, uh, classrooms and teachers, innovative educator grants. Um, the applications for those are still open until April 1st, and SEF is also having a fundraiser on February 19th at public house to raise money for the grants for student programs.

1:21:28 What, what program are they fundraising for? Student programs? Just students in general? Yeah. Sort of go into their overall fund. And that's a public house. Oh, February 19th. Yes. And what time? I don't think I know the time, but if you look on, uh, Springfield Education Foundation's website or Facebook page, they have. Fair Enough. Okay. Thank you. Lot of Information. Anything else? Okay. Well thank you all and excited for the potential lying ahead of us with the, uh, new board member coming on. Again, I'm sorry that, uh, that Heather resigned, but, uh, we'll hopefully entertain a great pool

1:22:15 of candidates and work our way through the process. And within a month, or exactly a month, I should say, uh, we'll have a new board member appointed. So thank you for all of you who are here, and thanks for all of you who attended online. Um, this meeting is adjourned and I will pass the gavel. Thank you. I would urge, which, so.
