28 I'll go ahead and call this May 26th, 2026 Springfield Board of Education special meeting to order. It is 4:47. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. And Director Cole, if you'd be so kind as to read the land acknowledgement. We acknowledge that our district is situated in the traditional homeland of the

16 Kalapuya people, specifically the community that was known as Chifen, the area that we now call Springfield. Kalapuya people who have lived in this region since time immemorial were illegally dispossessed of their land and forcibly removed to what are now the Grand Ronde and Siletz reservations over several years, but most notably in treaties between 1851 and 1855. The Kalapuya are now members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, and members of the Kalapuya still live, work, study, and thrive in this area and continue to make important contributions here in Springfield, across the land we now refer to as Oregon, and around the globe. This information is shared out of a responsibility to prevent

02 the erasure of Native culture, heritage, and people, and to ensure a quality contemporary education for future generations. Thank you. We'll move now to the approval of the agenda. Move approval. Second. Moved by Director Cole, seconded by- Director DeGraff ... Director DeGraff. Any changes, comments? Hearing none, call for the vote. All in favor indicate by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Are there any against? Motion carries five to zero. At this time, we'll adjourn into executive session for the review of confidential attorney-client privileged information under ORS 192.6602F,

51 and we will return when that is completed.

56 Marty, I left... I accidentally took that with me. At this time, we'll re-adjourn into our regular session, our special meeting. Moving to item agenda, action item 3A, action on information discussed in executive session I move the board take no further action related to complaint one, discuss in executive session, and delegate authority to the chair to draft a response to complainant based upon board's discussion. In addition, any further complaints relating to the underlying complaint will no longer be processed by the board.

45 Second. So a motion on the floor by Director Cole, seconded by Director Brew. Any further comments? Just that my view of risk and precedence is different, so I'll be voting no. Any other comments? I'll do a roll call vote starting with Director Cole. Yes. Director Brew? Yes. Director DeGraff? No. Director Langworthy? There may be a conflict. Okay. No. How do you choose to vote? You've expressed a possible conflict of interest. And your vote? I will abstain. Same- An abstention, and I will vote yes.

31 So the motion carries three to one, with one abstention. Okay. Then the next item. I move that the board take no further action related to complaint two, discuss in executive session, and delegate authority to the chair to draft a response to the complaint based upon board's discussion. Second. Excuse me. An action item on the table by Director Cole. A motion by Director Cole, seconded by Director Brew. Any comments? I will just say that my perspective of governance as risk is different, and also, I'm resigning June 30th.

17 Okay, thank you. Any other comments? Call to the vote. I'll start with Director Langworthy. Sorry. Sorry, I just got- This is on complaint number two? Yes. I choose to not accept. So, can you restate the motion, please? Yeah. Sorry. Thank you. So regarding complaint number two. So I move that the board take no further action related to complaint two, discuss in executive session, and delegate authority to the chair to draft a response to the complaint based upon board's discussion. Yes. I move

02 to do that. Please. Yes. Okay. Director DeGraff? No. Director Brew? Yes. Director Cole? Yes. Director Langworthy is a yes. Motion carries four to one. Our next meeting is May 27th, a special meeting.
